A Note From the Author

Why this
book?

When I first
became interested in starting an Amazon store, I had no clue where to begin. I
started searching online and quickly ran into more ads than I wanted to see.
Ads that promised everything—from “we’ll run it for you while you sit back and collect money” to “we’ll help you get started”—all for a huge fee. Prices
ranged anywhere from $99 to $30,000. And none of those prices included the
inventory you actually need to start selling.

Then I thought about it. I realized I could probably mess up a whole lot on my own
journey without spending $30,000, as long as I didn’t get myself suspended or
blacklisted from Amazon.

I’m pretty smart. I can do this myself. I once changed a light bulb after watching
a video online. I can do it.

Oh but the confusion because everyone has an opinion and claims to be an expert, and the technical side—knowing what you’re supposed to do but not being able to find the tabs and buttons on the websites.

There has to be a better way. Give me a checklist, a highlighter, and some whiteout. Tell me what I need to do step by step. Don’t promise me anything you can’t deliver. And for heaven’s sake, get your hands out of my pocket. If I spend anything, it should be on inventory or ads—not vague promises.

That’s exactly what this book provides: step-by-step instructions. Where to
find every tab and button, what you need to have before pressing them, and a checklist at the end of each chapter. If you haven’t checked all the boxes, don’t
move forward.

This isn’t the end-all, be-all Amazon book. But it will show you how to:

  • Start selling on Amazon
  • Find products with the best odds
    of selling
  • Source products
  • Arrange shipping from suppliers
  • Freight Forwarders and Amazon Prep
  • Create ads and optimize your
    listings for SEO
  • Inventory
  • Exit Strategy

All of it is broken down step by step, with checklists to ensure you don’t miss anything.

There are no guarantees—anyone who promises you a guaranteed return you should not buy their service. You should just ask them to use their crystal ball and give you 6 numbers and the closest lottery retailer.

No can predict consumer behavior and market trends.

Don’t get me wrong—some coaches and businesses are legitimate. But it can be difficult to tell which ones. Many of us have been scammed enough times to be wary.

Here’s my
recommended approach:

  1. Get educated. Understand all the information provided in this book.
  2. Ask questions. Seek out additional answers when needed.
  3. Create your store. Look into products, suppliers, and logistics.
  4. Hire a coach only if necessary. If you do, they’ll be much cheaper if they don’t have to hold your hand the whole way.

When you hire a coach, your conversations will be faster and more effective because you’ll already understand the basics. You might say something like:

“I have an Amazon store and have done my own product and marketing research. I’ve contacted a supplier in China and a freight forwarder to send the product to an Amazon prep center. I have all necessary labels. Would you review my choices for products and manufacturers? If not, could you walk me through your process or suggest improvements? Are you comfortable editing my ads?”

This doesn’t guarantee success, but it increases your odds. Maybe the coach will say:

“Good job! I
have no input, as everything looks solid. No one can tell you for sure, but you made educated decisions. Good luck!”

Finally, thank you for believing in yourself and thinking you can do this. All glory goes to God, and I hope you are blessed in your endeavors!
